New Provider ID Number for Blue Care Family Plan Claims
On July 1, 2006, as a result of an Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield system conversion, the Blue Care Family Plan (BCFP) claims processing system has been converted to a regional claims processing system called Anthem Consolidated East System (ACES). The conversion provides consistency across all Anthem BC/BS lines of business to increase service to members and participating providers.

BCFP members also have received new ID cards, which include the member's new ID number effective July 1, 2006. The new BCFP ID number is ten characters long beginning with the letter J followed by nine digits (i.e. J123456789). All claims submitted after July 1, 2006 must be submitted with this new ID number.
